Packaged phyllo shells, frozen
Persimmon Hill Farm's pepper jams of choice: Blueberry Jalapeno, Blackberry Habanero & Raspberry Habanero
1 package cream cheese or Brie
Sliced almonds
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place frozen phyllo shells on ungreased baking sheet. Add about 1/2 teaspoon of the cheese in the bottom of each. Brie has a warm, mellow flavor and is just divine when it melts together with the jam, but cream cheese is very good as well, is less expensive and easier to use -- choose whatever works best for you. Add 1/4 teaspoon of your pepper jam of choice to each, or vary the jams so you have a variety of colors and flavors. Our Persimmon Hill Blueberry Jalapeno is mild, with the Blackberry and Raspberry Habanero having more heat, so you might line them on a tray from least heat to most for your guests to choose. Top with a few sliced almonds, and bake for about 8 minutes - just until the cheese melts and the edges of the phyllo shells begin to turn brown. Serve warm or cooled.
Note: If you are serving to small kids who might not like the heat of the pepper jams, you can use regular jams. These are also delicious!
